Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering which is popularly known as GATE is goinf to conduct this year 2014. The candidates who are interested are requested to prepare for this examination as the applications for this examination are available. The eligibility criteria, syllabus, important dates and the examination pattern are available in the official website and explained while you going below. This year Indian Institute of Kharagpur is organizing this examination.

About Gate:

This examination is an all Indian examination which was administrated and will conducted by the seven Indian Institute of Technology and an Indian Institute of Sciences. Every year one of these prestigious 8 institutes will be taking care of this examination for conducting and also to make admissions for the candidates. Eligibility:

This examination is for the candidates who are studying their B.Tech/ B.S/ M.sc, M.Tech/ B.Sc and other professional society examinations which are equivalent to the B.E/ B.Tech and B.Arch.

B.Tech	Currently in the 4^th year or already completed	Completed certificate or certificate to complete their degree from principal.
B.Sc	Currently in the 4^th year or already completed	Completed certificate or certificate to complete their degree from principal.
M.Sc/M.A/M.C.A	Currently in the final year or already completed	Completed certificate or certificate to complete their degree from principal
M.E /M.Tech	Currently in the 2/3/4th year or already completed	Completed certificate or certificate to complete their degree from principal
M.Sc / Int.B.S – M.S	Currently in the 4/5th year or already completed	Completed certificate or certificate to complete their degree from principal

Certificate from the principal will shows that you are able to complete your bachelors degree and you are eligible for this examination. You need to take a signature from their principal along with the seal. This format will be printed on the application PDF which is generated after the completion of the online application submission.

New In Gate 2014:

From this year a new paper for ECOLOGY and EVOLUTION came into existence. The new pattern CBT computer based test is introduced, this CBT is for all the total 22 papers i.e, GATE 2014 is going to conduct only in ONLINE. This examination will be going to conduct in alternative weekends from 1^st Feb 2014 to 2^nd March 2014. The changes in GATE 2013 that are introduced and will remain unchanged for the GATE 2014. So candidates are need to inform that keep the changes in mind and prepare for their examinations.

Important Dates:

GATE Online Application Processing system starts : 2^ndSept 2013.

Last date for enrolment : 1^st Oct 2013.

Last date for submission of applications : 3^rdOct 2013.

Last date for changes in the applications : 20^thNov 2013.

Hall Tickets will be available from : 18^th Dec 2013.

Examination date is in between : 1^st Feb to 2^ndMarch 2014.

Results announced on : 28^th March 2014.
